I spent the week prior to Labor Day, 1999, at an outrageously creative event called Burning Man, a gigantic happening held each year in the Black Rock Desert north of Reno, Nevada. The event is a non-commercial celebration of art, creativity, and self expression. This year, 23,000 people participated. I invite you to read some Stories or browse the Photos. These few anecdotes, photos, and vignettes hardly begin to capture the excitement and fun of an event so huge, but maybe you'll get a little bit of the flavor of going to Burning Man. |
